After winning at the weekend Artemis Beartrappe's Belfast City team where eagerly waiting the result of the evening kick off involving Portsmouth... Portsmouth were unable to pick up the three points therefore Belfast City earned automatic promotion to EFL League One next season...
Belfast City's manager Artemis Beartrappe had this to say after they learnt their fate for next year... "It feels great to know we will be going up a division next year... League One is a tough league and no doubt many will expect us to be relegated... but it will be my job in the summer to improve this team whether it is bringing new players in... dipping into our wonderful resource of youth talent has to offer... or continue developing the wonderful players that we have currently in the first team that made promotion a reality!!! It will be a great year next year no matter what happens for me the players and most importantly for the fans!!!"
This Saturday Belfast City play Portsmouth with the chance of securing the EFL League Two title if they are able to collect the three points... Portsmouth may have other ideas on their mind after they helped secure the Belfast side to promotion already...
