Newspaper Rumours

Sunday 1st January 2017
Its the first of January and therefore its time once again for the transfer window opening… all teams have thirty one days to complete any business they need to so they are ready for the final straight of the season…

Today we will be looking at possible realistic pre contract players that could fit straight away in Artemis Beartrappe's Belfast City team…

Shay Given - At the age of forty he is the oldest player on this list... but surely the years of experience and leadership he could bring to this team would be invaluable!!! He may have one or two years left in him but as a goalkeeper anything is possible!!! If he were to retire after only one season surely a place in Artemis Beartrappe's coaching staff could go along way to helping Belfast City over their goalkeeping crisis!!!

Chris Brunt - West Brom's Captain is another player on the list that Artemis Beartrappe could sign... with Rico Henry's loan finishing at the end of the season a left back is a most... Chris would fit in perfectly there but can also play on the left of midfield... a big name Northern Irish player born in the city would give the club that city pride and help them push on!!!

Rob Green - The second goalkeeper on the list is thirty seven year old former England International Rob Green... Having played in the Premiership for many a year Rob is starting to wind down his career in football... and with Belfast City's issues in nets he would be a great addition... with a young team ahead of him his leadership he could get them would be motivational!!!

Kyle Lafferty - With Belfast City's small in stature strike force a bit of height and Ariel assault would be a massive game changer for the team when the short passing and running isn't working... the name that could prove the height and goals could be Noerthern Irelands second higest scorer Kyle Lafftery... Kyle will be looking to re kick start his career after spending the last few seasons on the bench... first team football for him would help out both club and country!!!
